Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the screws that retain the radio to the I/P center support bracket.

  3. Object Number: 786525  Size: SH
  4. Pull out the radio from the center support bracket leaving enough space to access the connectors at rear of the radio.
  5. Disconnect antenna cable connectors (3) from the radio (1).
  6. Disconnect the electrical wire harness (2) from the radio (1).
  7. Remove the radio (1) from the I/P center support bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Begin to install the radio to the center support bracket leaving enough space to access the connectors at rear of the radio.
  2. Connect the electrical wire harness (2) to the radio (1).
  3. Connect antenna cable connectors (3) to the radio (1).

  5. Install the radio into position in the I/P center support bracket.
  6. Align the radio locator tab into the locator hole in the center support bracket.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the radio screws.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  10. Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  11. Install the scan tool.
  12. Select RADIO THEFT from the SPECIAL FUNCTIONS menu.
  13. Follow the instructions on the screen.
