Circuit Description

The Automatic Level Control compressor accumulator will detect excessive air compressor activity. This condition is generally due to the presence of pneumatic leaks or vehicle overload conditions. The accumulator timer will keep track of the accumulated run time of the compressor. The timer resets at each ignition cycle or after an exhaust sequence has occurred.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is on.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The Automatic Level Control compressor is active for more than 3 minutes before the rear of the vehicle reaches a trim position..

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The LEVELING indicator lamp will flash while this DTC is present. The function of the ALC system will be disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The DTC will become a history DTC when conditions for the fault are no longer present and the ignition cycles from OFF to ON.

Diagnostic Aids

    • Inspect for the addition of any aftermarket components.
    • Inspect all wiring carefully for chaffing and proper routing. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, check for DTC 010.
