Circuit Description

The Automatic Level Control Sensor monitors the battery voltage for a high voltage condition.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition is on.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The Automatic Level Control sensor detects a momentarily high battery voltage above 16.0 V.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

This code will not cause the LEVELING indicator lamp to flash.

The function of the ALC system will be degraded or disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The DTC will clear when battery voltage returns to its normal range.

Diagnostic Aids

    • Inspect for the addition of any aftermarket components.
    • Inspect all wiring for intermittent and poor connections. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, check for DTC 002.

Is any other DTCs present?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Test the Battery Voltage circuit at the ALC sensor for high voltage.
  3. Test the ground circuit at the ALC sensor for a good ground.

Did you find and correct the condition?
