Schematic Reference: Automatic Level Control Schematics

Did you perform the Automatic Level Control (ALC) Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Remove the auto level control air compressor relay K19 from the relay box.
  2. Measure the voltage between the battery positive voltage circuit (relay box terminal 5) of the auto level control relay K19 and a good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

12 V

Go to Step 4

Repair an open or high resistance in the battery positive voltage circuit of the auto level control relay K19. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Connect a fused jumper wire between the battery positive voltage circuit of the auto level control relay K19 and the battery feed circuit of the auto level control air compressor.

Does the auto level control air compressor activate?

--

Go to Step 7

  1. Leave fused jumper wire connected.
  2. Disconnect the auto level control air compressor connector.
  3. Measure the voltage between the air compressor harness connector terminal B and a good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

12 V

Go to Step 8

Repair an open or high resistance in the battery feed circuit of the auto level control air compressor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the auto level control air compressor relay K19.

Test the auto level control air compressor ground circuit for an open. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the auto level control air compressor. Refer to Air Compressor Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
