Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ALC sensor.
  3. Unclip the wires from the rear axle cradle.

  4. Object Number: 229073  Size: SH
  5. Release the self-locking tabs to remove the link rod from the sensor arm.
  6. Remove the ALC sensor bolts.
  7. Remove the ALC sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ALC sensor.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the ALC sensor bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ALC sensor bolts to 14 N·m (124 lb in).

  5. Secure the link rod to the ALC sensor arm with the locking tabs.
  6. Route the ALC sensor wiring to the rear axle cradle.
  7. Clip the ALC sensor wiring to the rear axle cradle.
  8. Reconnect the electrical connection.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Reprogram the ALC system. Using the scan tool follow the instructions on the display screen.
  11. Check for DTCs.
  12. Verify system operation.
