Removal Procedure
- Position the coolant line that runs across the top of the air
cleaner housing out of the way.
- Loosen the hose clamp
that is holding the air duct to the air cleaner housing.
- Loosen the screws around the perimeter of the air cleaner housing
lid.
- Lift the air cleaner lid. Then disengage the lid (1) from the
air duct.
- Remove the air filter element (2).
Installation Procedure
- Clean out all traces of
dirt and other contaminants from the air cleaner base and lid.
- Place the air filter element (2) into the air cleaner lid (1).
- Install the air cleaner lid and the filter element back into place
as a unit, engaging the air duct as the assembly is moved into position.
- Tighten the perimeter screws on the air cleaner housing lid.
- Ensure that the air duct is properly fitted to the air cleaner
lid.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Tighten the clamp
on the air intake duct.
Tighten
Tighten the air intake duct hose clamp to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Reposition the coolant line in its retainers on the top of the
air cleaner housing lid.
