Removal Procedure
- Remove the intake plenum. Refer to Intake Plenum Replacement .
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief in Engine Controls 3.0L.
- Remove the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail.
- Remove the fuel return hose from the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the fuel injector electrical harness connector.
- Remove the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator.
- Remove the intake manifold bolts.
- Remove the intake manifold.
Installation Procedure
- Clean the intake manifold sealing surfaces with a nonabrasive tool or solvent.
- Remove masking from the intake ports.
- Install the intake manifold.
- Install the intake manifold bolts.
- Install the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator.
- Connect the fuel injector electrical harness connector.
- Install the fuel supply hose.
- Install the fuel return hose.
- Install the intake plenum. Refer to Intake Plenum Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the intake manifold bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the fuel supply hose connections to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the fuel return hose connections to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
