J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Using theJ 38185 reposition the air injection hose clamp at the diverter valve.

  2. Object Number: 828130  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air injection hose from the diverter valve.
  4. Remove the cooling fan resistor mounting screws.
  5. Remove the retaining screws at the resistor electrical terminals.
  6. Remove the low speed cooling fan resistor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the low speed cooling fan resistor to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 828130  Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical terminals to the resistor.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the retaining screws to the electrical terminals.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  7. Position the resistor to the inner fender.
  8. Install the resistor mounting screws.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  10. Install the air injection hose to the diverter valve.
  11. Using the J 38185 reposition the air injection hose clamp.
