When you first turn ON the ignition, the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic and seat belt pretensioner module (SDM) performs tests to diagnose critical malfunctions within itself. Then, the SDM proceeds with the RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT test to measure the deployment loop resistances to ensure that they are within their respective normal resistance ranges.
When the ignition voltage is within the normal operating voltage range, the SDM performs the internal malfunction checks to ensure that no malfunctions exist within the SDM.
The DTC will set when an internal malfunction has been detected by the SDM.
The SDM turns ON the AIR BAG warning lamp.
• | A Current DTC is latched. A Current DTC will clear when the SDM is replaced. |
• | A History DTC can be cleared by using a scan tool. |
This DTC is an indication of an internal malfunction within the SDM.
