The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
The Technical Assistance Center (TAC) has received numerous phone calls resulting from confusion that exists about the process to obtain the Immobilizer Security Code.
The Immobilizer Security Code can be obtained through GM DealerWorld using the KeyCode Look Up application found under the PARTS tab. The Immobilizer Security Code is the four digit number listed in the VATS code column.
Note: The KeyCode Look Up application will not appear if it is not assigned to your user profile. Typically only a few individuals in the dealership parts department will have access to this application. Please see your Partner Security Coordinator (PSC) for any changes required to your user profile.
Important: In the event of a system outage, please contact the GM ACCESS & DealerWorld Assistance Center 1-888-337-1010. TAC is unable to provide the Security Code.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
