The following symptoms refer to mechanical operation of power seat adjusters with a power recliner. For electrical diagnosis refer to Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems .

1. One adjuster reaches maximum horizontal position before the other adjuster.

Adjuster may be out of phase. Refer to Seat Adjuster Phase Adjustment .

2. Seat does not move freely, the seat has to be lubricated.

Lubricate with Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube® (GM P/N 12346241 or equivalent).

3. One adjuster will not move forward and backward. Driveshafts may be jammed or damaged. Refer to Power Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement .

Lubricate the following points:

Important: Seat adjuster in the front and up most position. Lubricate the inner and outer rail in the same procedure.
