Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check for the door system?

1. Connect a scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine Off.
3. Read the current personalization setting for the automatic door lock mode.

Is the personalization setting correct?

Go to Step 3

Verify that there is a fault with the automatic door locks.

Do the automatic door locks operate correctly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

1. Close all the doors.
2. While observing the Door Jamb Switch input on the scan tool, open and close a door.

Did the Door Jamb Switch input toggle when the door was opened and closed?

Go to Step 6

Test the door jamb switch input circuit to the BCM for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 18

Go to Step 6

While observing the Brake Switch input on the scan tool, push the brake pedal and let it up.

Does the Brake Switch input toggle?

Go to Step 10

1. Probe at the Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Switch, on the Gear Out of Park circuit with a test lamp connected to battery positive voltage.
2. Move the Shifter out of PARK.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Test the Stop lamp switch input circuit to the BCM for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 18

Test the Stop lamp switch input circuit to the BCM for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

While observing the Park Position Input on the scan tool, move the shifter in and out of park.

Does the Park Position Input toggle?

Go to Step 13

Test the Gear Out Of Park Position input circuit to the BCM for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 18

Go to Step 12

Test the Gear Out of Park Position input circuit to the BCM for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Check for a poor connection at the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Check for a poor connection at the Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control switch. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Switch replacement in Transmission/Transaxle.
