Was the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector.
  2. Turn ON the ignition switch.
  3. With a DMM measure the voltage between the engine oil level sensor connector terminal 2 and a good ground.

Is the voltage reading within the specified range?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Check for an open or a poor connection in CKT XU600. If OK, replace the gauge cluster.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Check for an open ground circuit or a poor connection at connector C102 terminal 6. If OK, replace the engine oil level sensor.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were removed in previous steps.
  2. Verify that the low engine oil level indicator operates properly.

Does the low engine oil level indicator operate properly?
