Go to Symptoms - Wiper/Washer Systems

1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
2. Connect a test light from the wiper motor high speed supply circuit in the wiper motor connector to ground.
3. Turn the ignition switch on.
4. Turn the windshield wiper/washer switch to the high speed position.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step  3

Test and repair the wiper motor high speed supply circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Testing for Continuity and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step  6

Go to Step  4

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 6

1. Inspect for a faulty connection at the windshield wiper motor connector.
2. If the connection is OK, replace the windshield wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
