Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Important: The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) feature can be disabled via the scan tool. Observe that "DRL  Enabled" is selected by the scan tool.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Shift the gear selector to the D position.
  3. Insure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  4. Insure that the twilight sentinel switch is in the OFF position.
  5. Verify that the Daytime running lamps are inoperative

Are the daytime running lamps operating properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  2. Turn on the high beam switch on.
  3. Verify that the LH and RH high beam headlamps operate.

Does the LH and RH high beam headlamps operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Headlamps Inoperative - High Beams

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Insure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  3. Insure that the high beam switch is in the OFF position.
  4. Disconnect the left headlamp relay K133 and the right headlamp relay K132.
  5. Test for an open or high resistance in the DRL high beam series connecting circuit (M65).

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Replace the left headlamp relay K133.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 6

  1. Connect all connectors and components previously disconnected.
  2. Verify that the DRL system operates properly.

Does the DRL system operate properly?

System OK
