When you first turn ON the ignition, the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic and seat belt pretensioner module (SDM) performs tests to diagnose critical malfunctions within itself . During one portion of these tests, the SDM checks to ensure that it is properly configured for this vehicle. Then, the SDM proceeds with the RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT test to measure the deployment loop resistances to ensure that they are within their respective normal resistance ranges.
When the ignition voltage is within the normal operating voltage range, the SDM performs the internal malfunction checks and the SDM checks to ensure that it is properly configured.
The DTC will set when there is a mismatch between the serial data configuration programming request and the SDM determined vehicle system configuration.
The SDM turns ON the AIR BAG warning lamp.
• | The DTC will clear when the SDM has determined that the vehicle system configuration matches the serial data configuration programming. |
• | A History DTC can be cleared by using a scan tool. |
This DTC indicates that a mismatch exists between the serial data configuration programming request and the SDM determined vehicle system configuration.
