Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the RF floor air outlet.
  2. Remove the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  3. Object Number: 153292  Size: SH
  4. Bend downward at the accordion section of the supply duct to remove the duct from the side air vent.

  5. Object Number: 153296  Size: MH
  6. Disconnect the temperature actuator electrical connector.
  7. Access the temperature actuator from the I/P compartment cavity.
  8. The temperature actuator is located at the top of the HVAC module close to the I/P carrier.

    Important: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated to access the screws for the following step.

  9. Remove the actuator screws.
  10. Remove the temperature actuator from the linkage.
  11. Remove the temperature actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 153296  Size: MH
  1. Install the temperature actuator.
  2. Install the linkage to the temperature actuator.
  3. Important: The temperature actuator linkage may need to be rotated to access the screw holes for the following step.

  4. Install the temperature actuator screws until fully seated and not stripped.
  5. Connect the temperature actuator electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 153292  Size: SH
  7. Install the supply ducts:
  8. • Insert the supply duct into the module.
    • Bend at the accordion section to install.
  9. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  10. Install the RF floor air outlet.
  11. Synchronize the actuators:
  12. • Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    • Simultaneously press and hold the AUTO and OFF buttons on the H-A/C control panel for at least 5 seconds.
