Removal Procedure
Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
Remove the TXV from the evaporator. Refer to
Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement
.
Remove the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement
in Steering Wheel and Column.
Remove the brake pedal with the bracket. Refer to
Brake Pedal Bracket Replacement
in Hydraulic Brakes.
Remove the evaporator:
•
Plug the fittings to prevent refrigerant oil from dripping on the interior trim.
•
Carefully pull out the evaporator.
Installation Procedure
Carefully install the evaporator (2) into the module (1) to prevent damage to the cooling fans.
Install the brake pedal with the bracket. Refer to
Brake Pedal Bracket Replacement
in Hydraulic Brakes.
Install the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement
in Steering Wheel and Column.
Install the TXV. Refer to
Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement
.
Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
Leak test the fitting(s) of the repaired or reinstalled component using
J 39400
.
