Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air filter housing.
  2. • Remove the cover.
    • Remove the element.
    • Unseat from the grommets (1, 2).
  3. Remove the generator cooling duct.
  4. Remove the center inlet and outlet pipe hoses from oil cooler pipe.
  5. • Squeeze the clamps.
    • Slide the clamps away from the connection.
    • Disconnect the hoses from pipe.
  6. Remove the upper pipe fitting and seals from radiator. Discard seals.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  8. Remove the lower pipe fitting and seals from radiator. Discard seals.

  10. Remove the front oil cooler pipe (3) from vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the lower pipe fitting and new seals to radiator.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the lower pipe fitting to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the front oil pipe (3) to vehicle.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Install the upper pipe fitting and new seals to radiator.
  6. Install the upper pipe fitting bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the upper pipe fitting to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the center oil cooler pipe hoses to pipe.
  9. • Install the hoses to pipes.
    • Squeeze the clamps.
    • Slide the clamps into position.
  10. Install the generator cooling duct.

  12. Install the air filter housing.
  13. • Seat the housing to the grommets (1, 2).
    • Install the element.
    • Install the cover.
  14. Inspect the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
