Removal Procedure
Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur
if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel
fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have
a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.
- Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve the system pressure.
Caution: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air in order to prevent eye
injury.
- Using compressed air blow out dirt from the quick connect fittings.
- Disconnect the purge line quick-connect fittings on both sides
of the service port by squeezing the plastic release tabs (2,3).
- Remove the fastener (4) that secures the service port to the bracket.
- Remove the service port from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Mount the service port to
the bracket.
- Install the fastener that secures the service port to the bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Clean any contamination from the male line ends. Then apply a
few drops of clean engine oil.
- Connect the purge lines to both sides of the service port.
- Tighten the fuel filler cap.
