Removal Procedure

    Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.

  1. Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve the system pressure.
  2. Caution: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air in order to prevent eye injury.

  3. Using compressed air blow out dirt from the quick connect fittings.
  4. Disconnect the purge line quick-connect fittings on both sides of the service port by squeezing the plastic release tabs (2,3).
  5. Remove the fastener (4) that secures the service port to the bracket.
  6. Remove the service port from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Mount the service port to the bracket.
  2. Install the fastener that secures the service port to the bracket.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  4. Clean any contamination from the male line ends. Then apply a few drops of clean engine oil.
  5. Connect the purge lines to both sides of the service port.
  6. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
