  2. Install the scan tool.
  3. Establish communication with the driver seat adjuster memory module.

Program the driver seat adjuster memory module. Refer to Memory Seat/Mirror Personalization - Programming .

Use the scan tool to check for any current and/or history DTC's that may be present.

Are there any current and/or history DTC's displayed?

Go to Step 5

  1. If DTC 11 is set, refer to DTC 11 Driver Seat Forward/Backward Motor Inop .
  2. If DTC 12 is set, refer to DTC 12 Driver Seat Recliner Motor Inoperative .
  3. If DTC 16 is set, refer to DTC 16 Driver Seat Front Height Motor Inoperative .
  4. If DTC 17 is set, refer to DTC 17 Driver Seat Rear Height Motor Inoperative .
  5. If DTC 21 is set, refer to Power Seats - Memory Switch Inoperative .
  6. If DTC 50 or 55 is set, refer to DTC 50 Seat Adjuster Memory Module Malfunction or DTC 55 Seat Adjuster Memory Module Malfunction .

Use the scan tool to operate the driver seat.

Does the driver seat operate properly from the scan tool?

Go to Step 7

Replace the driver seat adjuster switch.

Refer to Memory Seat/Mirror Personalization - Programming .

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Press the seat front height UP and DOWN switch. The front of the seat should move up and down.
  3. Press the seat rear height UP and DOWN switch. The rear of the seat should move up and down.
  4. Press the seat forward switch. The seat should move forward.
  5. Press the seat backward switch. The seat should move backward.
  6. Press the seat backrest forward switch. The seat backrest should move forward.
  7. Press the seat backrest backward switch. The seat backrest should move backward.

Does the driver seat move to the appropriate position when you press the designated switch?

Go to Step 9

Go to Power Seats - Memory Switch Inoperative

  1. Program the driver seat adjuster memory module for the three different memory positions. Refer to Memory Seat/Mirror Personalization - Programming .
  2. Press the personal key #1. The driver seat, inside rear view mirror and the outside rear view mirrors should move to the first pre-programmed position.
  3. Press the personal key #2. The driver seat, inside rear view mirror and the outside rear view mirrors should move to the second pre-programmed position.
  4. Press the personal key #3. The driver seat, inside rear view mirror and the outside rear view mirrors should move to the third pre-programmed position

Does the driver seat, inside rear view mirror and outside rear view mirrors move to the appropriate position when the designated switch is pressed?
