Did you perform the Content Theft Deterrent System Check?

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE.
  3. Select INPUTS.
  4. Select DOOR JAMB SW.
  5. Close all of the doors.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Inspect the door jamb switch for possible intermittent malfunction by monitoring the scan tool while opening and closing each door several times.
  2. If OK, check the wiring for a possible short to ground.

Was a problem found with any of the above?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C1.
  2. Using the DMM, connect the DMM from terminal B02 to a known good ground.
  3. Open the drivers door and remove the jamb switch.
  4. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance reading equal to the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 8

Repair the intermittent malfunction.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Inspect the door jamb switch mounting screw for a clean connection.
  2. If connection is OK, replace the door jamb switch. Refer to Door Jamb Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 7

If the scan tool still displays ON, repeat Step 4 with the other three doors.

Was a problem found with any of the other door jamb switches or was a circuit repaired?

Go to Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) System Check

Go to Step 9

Repair the short to ground between terminal 2 of the door jamb switch connector and terminal B02 of connector C1.

Is the circuit repair complete?

  1. With the scan tool select TRUNK JAMB SW.
  2. Ensure that the rear compartment lid is closed.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

--

Go to Step 10

  1. Inspect trunk jamb switch for possible intermittent malfunction by monitoring the scan tool while opening and closing the rear compartment lid several times.
  2. If OK, inspect the wiring for an intermittent short to ground.

Was a problem found with any of the above?

--

Go to Step 14

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lamp switch.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

--

Go to Step 12

  1. Inspect the lamp switch mounting screw for a clean connection.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the rear compartment lamp switch

Is the replacement complete?

--

  1. Disconnect connector C2 from the BCM.
  2. Using the DMM, measure the resistance between terminal D07 and a good ground.

Is the resistance equal to the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 15

Repair the intermittent malfunction.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the rear compartment lamp switch.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Locate a short to ground in circuit XM8 and/or circuit XM9.
  2. Repair the short to ground in circuit XM8 and/or circuit XM9.

Is the repair complete?
