Did you perform the Content Theft Deterrent System Check?

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE.
  3. Select INPUTS.
  4. Select KEY DISARM.
  5. Insert the ignition key into the door lock switch.
  6. Turn the door lock switch to unlock.

Does the scan tool display ON?

Go to Step 3

  1. Inspect the door lock switch for an intermittent malfunction, by turning the switch several times while monitoring the scan tool.
  2. If the switch is OK, inspect circuits XY8, F4, F8, and F1 for intermittent operation.

Was a problem found with the above circuits?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect connector C1 from the body control module (BCM).
  2. Using the DMM on the ohms scale, connect the DMM from terminal A03 to a good ground.
  3. Insert the ignition key in the door lock switch and turn to the unlock position.
  4. Measure the resistance.

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Repair the intermittent circuit malfunction or replace the door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect for poor connections at the BCM.
  2. Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Remove the connector from the door lock switch.
  2. Install the scan tool.
  3. Select KEY DISARM.
  4. Using a fused jumper wire, connect the jumper wire between terminals 1 and 2.

Does the scan tool display ON?

Replace the door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the replacement complete?

Remove the jumper wire end from terminal 1 and connect the jumper wire to a known good ground.

Does the scan tool display ON?

--

Go to Step 10

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in the ground circuit.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in the ground circuit.

Is repair complete?

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit XY810.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit XY810.
