Did you perform the Exterior Lights Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  2. Determine which front side marker lamp is inoperative.

Is the LH front side marker lamp inoperative?

--

Go to Step  8

  1. Disconnect the RH front side marker lamp.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the RH front side marker lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified range?

B+

Go to Step  5

Go to Step  4

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in power feed CKT RU3 from splice S102.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT RU3.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step  13

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the RH front side marker lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step  7

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits  FU1, FU40 and/or FU20.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits FU1, FU40 and/or FU20.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the RH stop/taillamp. Refer to Front Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the RH front side marker lamp. Refer to Front Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  1. Disconnect the LH front side marker lamp.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the LH front side marker lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step  10

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in power feed CKT RU2 from splice S102.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in powerfeed CKT RU2.

Did you complete the repair?

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the LH front side marker lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step  12

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits FM1, FM40 and/or FM20.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits  FM1, FM40 and/or FM20.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH stop/taillamp. Refer to Rear Side Marker Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Connect all of the connectors and components that were previously disconnected.
  2. Verify that the LH and RH front side marker lamps turn on.

Do the LH and RH front side marker lamps turn on?

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits RA1 and/or RA20.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits FU1 and/or FU30.

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in powerfeed circuits RF1 and/or RF20.
