Did you perform the Exterior Lights Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Exterior Lights System Check .

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Disconnect the turn signal switch connector.
  4. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the turn signal switch connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT B800.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT B800.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 15

  1. Connect the turn signal switch connector.
  2. Determine if the LH or RH cornering lamp is inoperative.

Is the LH cornering lamp inoperative?

--

Go to Step 10

  1. Disconnect the RH cornering lamp.
  2. Engage the turn signal switch so that the RH cornering lamp is supposed to be on.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the RH cornering lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits RA999 and/or RA1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits RA999 and/or RA1.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column On Vehicle Service.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Turn off the ignition and all of the lights.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the RH cornering lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the resistance measure near the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 9

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT F5.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F5.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the RH cornering lamp. Refer to Fog and Cornering Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  1. Disconnect the LH cornering lamp.
  2. Engage the turn signal switch so that the LH cornering lamp is supposed to be on.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the LH cornering lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 12

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits RF999, RF998 and/or RF1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits RF999, RF998 and/or RF1.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column On Vehicle Service.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Turn off the ignition and all of the lights.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the LH cornering lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 14

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT F2.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F2.

Replace the LH cornering lamp. Refer to Fog and Cornering Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were previously disconnected.
  2. Verify that the LH and RH cornering lamps operate properly.
