Did you perform the Interior Lamps Dimming Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Do not disconnect the headlamp switch from its connector.
  4. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the headlamp switch and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT RU70.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT RU70.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal 13 of the headlamp switch connector and a known good ground.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT F18.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F18.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Disconnect the headlamp switch.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the headlamp switch connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

  1. Locate a short to B+ in all of the related circuits.
  2. Repair the short to B+ in all of the related circuits.

Replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were previously disconnected.
  2. Verify that the interior lamps dim properly.
