Did you perform the Exterior Lights Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Press the brake pedal.
  2. Determine if the LH or RH stop lamp or the auxiliary brake lamp is inoperative.

Is the auxiliary brake lamp inoperative?

--

Go to Step  3

  1. Disconnect the auxiliary brake lamp connector.
  2. Press the brake pedal.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal B of the auxiliary brake lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

Go to Step  5

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT FB5 and/or CKT FB15.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT FB5 and/or CKT FB15.

Did you complete the repair?

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal A of the auxiliary brake lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the resistance measure near the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT F3.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F3.

Is the LH stop lamp inoperative?

  1. Disconnect the RH stop lamp connector.
  2. Press the brake pedal.
  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal D of the RH stop lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

B+

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT FB2.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT FB2.

Did you complete the repair?

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal B of the RH stop lamp connector and a known good ground.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in CKT F25.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F25.

  3. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage between terminal A of the LH stop lamp connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT FB6.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in CKT F125.
