Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission into the vehicle using the support fixture.
  2. Install the transmission housing to engine bolts. Apply thread locking compound to threads prior to installation.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
Tighten the transmission housing to engine block bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  4. Remove the support from the front of the engine.
  5. Connect the electrical connectors at the following locations:
  6. • The transmission control selector switch
    • The adapter case
    • The main case
    • The transmission speed sensor and harness clip to housing
