Circuit Description

An internal failure within the driver seat adjuster memory module will set DTC 50 or 55.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Driver seat adjuster memory module hardware failure (EEPROM, RAM, or ROM are defective).

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTC 50 or 55 will set and the driver seat adjuster memory module will become disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

  1. DTC 50 or 55 will clear when the fault is no longer present.
  2. DTC 50 or 55 can be cleared by using the scan tool.

Diagnostic Aids

Replace the driver seat adjuster memory module.

Test Description

The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step replaces the driver seat adjuster memory module.

  2. This step programs the driver seat adjuster memory module and checks for any DTC's that may be present.

Replace the driver seat adjuster memory module. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement in Seats.

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Program the driver seat adjuster memory module. Refer to Memory Seat Operation in Seats.
  3. Use the scan tool to check for any DTC's.
  4. Verify that the driver seat operates properly in all directions and that there are no DTC's present.
