The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Neither SI nor the printed service manuals indicate the orientation of the three hoses that connect to the heater water valve. The following information should aid in proper connections of the hoses.
The heater water valve has three connections. There is a single port on one side and dual ports on the other. The two, on the one side, are stacked vertically. The port on the single hose side is the hot water inlet from the engine. The upper port on the dual side is for output to the heater core. The lower port on the dual side is for bypass back to the engine.
