When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

The 3.0 L (L81) replacement engine Is only available from GMSPO as a short block assembly. Call PQC For authorization before ordering the short block assembly.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The following part numbers are available from GMSPO to assemble a 3.0 L (L81) Engine short block to a long block engine assembly.

Note: The Engine Unit Number (EUN) is located on the engine at the rear of the cylinder block near the transmission bellhousing mating surface engine. Reference the 1998 Catera SI (Service Information), Volume 1of 3 Page 0 -7 for an Illustration of the Engine Unit Number.
