Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Support Replacement

  4. Object Number: 162589  Size: SH
  5. Remove the nuts (2) from the windshield washer reservoir (1). The windshield washer reservoir does not require removal from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the nuts (4) from the front bumper impact bar (3).

  7. Object Number: 162595  Size: SH
  8. Remove the front bumper impact bar.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front bumper impact bar.

  2. Object Number: 162589  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts (4) to the front bumper impact bar (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the front bumper impact bar nuts to 150 N·m (111 lb ft).

  5. Install the nuts (2) to the windshield washer reservoir (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the windshield washer fluid reservoir nuts to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  7. Install the front bumper fascia support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Support Replacement
  8. Install the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
  9. Lower the vehicle.
