Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 443111  Size: SH
  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Remove the rear compartment spare tire cover panel.
  3. Remove the two wing latches on the rear compartment stowage/CD player door.
  4. Remove the three nuts retaining the stowage/CD player door to the rear compartment floor.
  5. Remove the rear compartment stowage/CD player door.
  6. Pull rearward to remove the rear compartment floor carpet.
  7. Remove the four screws across the top of the rear end finish panel.
  8. Remove the one screw in each of the lower corners of the rear end finish panel.
  9. Unsnap the cover to remove the rear end finish panel.

  11. Remove the rear compartment lid latch striker (2) bolt.
  12. Remove the rear compartment lid latch striker washer (1).
  13. Remove the rear compartment lid latch striker (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 163223  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid latch striker (3).
  2. Install the rear compartment lid latch striker washer (1).
  3. Install the rear compartment lid latch striker bolt (2).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment lid latch striker bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the four screws across the top of the rear end finish panel.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the four rear end finish panel screws until fully seated. Do NOT strip the rear end finish panel screws.

  7. Install the one screw in each of the lower corners of the rear end finish panel.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the rear end finish panel screws until fully seated. Do NOT strip the rear end finish panel screws.

  9. Snap in the cover to install the rear end finish panel.
  10. Refit the rear compartment floor carpet to install the rear compartment floor carpet.
  11. Install the three nuts retaining the stowage/CD player door to the rear compartment floor.
  12. Install the two wing latches on the rear compartment stowage/CD player door.
  13. Install the rear compartment stowage/CD player door.
  14. Install the rear compartment spare tire cover panel.
  15. Close the rear compartment lid.
