Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 163063  Size: SH

    Important: Tape above and below the molding to prevent damage to the painted surfaces when removing the molding. Replace the front fender center molding once it has been removed. Paint the center molding prior to installation. Refer to Rigid Plastic Part Refinishing in Paint Coatings.

  1. Perform the following steps to remove the molding:
  2. 1.1. Start at the rear of the molding.
    1.2. Pull the molding away from the fender to remove.
    1.3. Use a plastic tool to pry the molding from the fender.
  3. Use an oil-free naphtha or use isopropyl alcohol to clean the door surfaces.

Installation Procedure

Perform the following steps to install the center molding:

  1. Use a heat gun or use a heat lamp to warm the body panel to a minimum temperature of 21°C (70°F).
  2. Peel the backing from the molding.

  3. Object Number: 163063  Size: SH
  4. Align the molding and the clips with the door holes. DO NOT overlap the molding over the door edge or over the door edge guard.
  5. Insert the center molding.
  6. Press the center molding firmly.
