Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
- Remove the front seatback cushion foam. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement .
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the actuator motor to the front seatback power recliner.
- Remove one retaining clip and the actuator shaft of the front seatback recliner from the seatback.
- Remove the screw from the actuator motor of the front seatback power recliner.
- Remove the actuator motor of the front seatback power recliner from the seatback.
Installation Procedure
- Install the actuator motor to the front seatback power recliner.
- Install the screw to the actuator motor for the front seatback power recliner.
- Install the actuator shaft to the front seatback recliner. Secure with one retaining clip.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the actuator motor for the front seatback power recliner.
- Install the cushion pad. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Pad Replacement .
- Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the actuator screw until fully seated and not stripped.
