Power Seat Adjuster Does Not Move Vertically Driver Seat UP/DOWN Inop

Was the Power Seats System Check performed?

Go to Step 2

Go to Power Seats System Check .

  1. Disconnect the front height seat adjuster actuator motor.
  2. Disconnect the rear height seat adjuster actuator motor.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the front and the rear height seat adjuster actuator motors while pressing the UP and DOWN switch.
  4. Terminal 1 is B+ and terminal 2 is grounded if the DOWN switch is pressed.
  5. Terminal 2 is B+ and terminal is grounded if the UP switch is pressed.

Is the measured voltage for both measurements within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Replace the driver seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement in Seats.

Is the replacement complete?

Replace the front and rear height seat adjuster actuator motors. Refer to Seat Adjuster Front Vertical Actuator and Rear Vertical Actuator Replacement in Seats.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the driver seat UP/DOWN operates properly.

Does the driver seat UP/DOWN operate properly?

  1. Disconnect the front height seat adjuster actuator motor.
  2. Disconnect the rear height seat adjuster actuator motor.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the front and the rear height seat adjuster actuator motors while pressing the UP and DOWN switch.
  4. Terminal 1 is B+ and terminal 2 is grounded if the DOWN switch is pressed.
  5. Terminal 2 is B+ and terminal is grounded if the UP switch is pressed.

Is the measured voltage for both measurements within the specified value?

B+
