Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.

  2. Object Number: 162607  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear fascia upper center retaining covers from the rear fascia upper center.
  4. Remove the rear fascia upper center retaining screws from the rear fascia upper center.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle to in General Information.

  6. Object Number: 162610  Size: SH
  7. Remove the screws (1) from the rear fascia inner edge of the quarter panel.
  8. Remove the screws (2) from the rear fascia lower corner of the quarter panel.

  9. Object Number: 162613  Size: SH
  10. Push the center pin inward on each of the four retaining clips to release the retaining clips from the rear fascia lower center.
  11. Perform the following steps to remove the rear fascia:
  12. 8.1. Put down a protective cover to prevent damage to the rear fascia.
    8.2. Pull both corners of the rear fascia away from the quarter panel and the retainers with the aid of a helper.
    8.3. Pull the rear fascia from the center of the rear impact bar to remove the rear fascia.
  13. Remove the electrical connector from the rear fascia.
  14. Remove the electrical harness from the rear fascia.
  15. Remove the rear license plate lamp socket and bulb. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  16. Remove the sidemarker lamp socket and bulb. Refer to Side Marker Lamp Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the sidemarker lamp socket and bulb. Refer to Side Marker Lamp Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  2. Install the rear license plate lamp socket and bulb. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Install the electrical harness to the rear fascia.
  4. Install the electrical connector to the rear fascia.
  5. Perform the following steps to install the rear fascia:
  6. 5.1. Align the rear fascia to the center of the rear impact bar.
    5.2. Fit both corners of the rear fascia to the quarter panel and to the retainers with the aid of a helper to install the rear fascia.

  7. Push in the center pin one each of the four retaining clips to install the retaining clips to the rear fascia lower center.

  8. Object Number: 162610  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the screw (2) to the rear fascia to the lower corner of the quarter panel.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the rear fascia-to-body screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the screws (1) to the rear fascia inner edge of the quarter panel.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the rear fascia lower screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  13. Lower the vehicle.

  15. Install the retaining screws to the rear fascia upper center.
  16. Install the covers to the rear fascia upper center.
  17. Close the rear compartment lid.
