received in your area.
- Compare the complaint vehicle with a similar like same vehicle
in the same locations that the problems are observed.

- Temporarily mount a test antenna with a coax to the vehicle.
- Ground the antenna base and check the integrity of the ground
with the DMM before plugging the coax into the radio.
- Do not hold the antenna in your hand.

- Check the integrity of the rear window defogger grid and the rear
window braided lead wires. Repair the defogger grid or the braided lead wires
if necessary. Refer to

in Stationary Windows for repair of the defogger grid. Refer

Rear Window Defogger Braided Lead Wire
in Stationary Windows for repair of the braided lead wires.
- Check the integrity of the antenna coax cable from the radio antenna
amplifier to the radio. Replace the antenna coax cable if necessary.
- Replace the radio antenna amplifier if the antenna coax cable
and the rear window defogger grid lines are OK.

- Compare the reception with the ignition switch in different positions.
- First, turn the ignition switch to the ON position with the engine
not running.
- Second, start the engine and let it run for a while.
