Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 153142 Size: SH
  1. Install the evaporator tube extension:
  2. • Use new O-rings.
    • Lubricate the new O-rings with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the evaporator tube extension bolt.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the condenser tube threaded connection to the evaporator tube extension:
  6. • Use a new O-ring.
    • Lubricate the new O-ring with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.

    Tighten
Tighten the connection to 44 N·m (33 lb ft).

  7. Install the compressor hose quick connect fitting to the evaporator tube extension.
  8. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  9. Leak test the A/C system.
