Removal Procedure

The condenser tube is located between the condenser and the evaporator tube and is situated under the EBTCM/BPMV on the LH side of the engine compartment.

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Disconnect the condenser line threaded connection from the evaporator line extension.

  3. Object Number: 153189  Size: SH
  4. Remove the condenser line bolt at the condenser.
  5. Remove the EBTCM/BPMV. Refer to Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.
  6. Remove the condenser line retaining clips from the vehicle body.
  7. Remove the condenser line.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the condenser line.
  2. Install the condenser line retaining clips to the vehicle body.
  3. Install the EBTCM/BPMV. Refer to Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module Replacement in Antilock Brake System.

  5. Install the condenser line bolt at the condenser:
  6. • Use new O-rings.
    • Lubricate the O-rings with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Connect the condenser line threaded connection to the evaporator line extension connection:
  8. • Use a new O-ring.
    • Lubricate the O-ring with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.

    Tighten
    Tighten the connection to 44 N·m (33 lb ft).

  9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  10. Leak test the A/C system.
