Removal Procedure
- Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir cover (1).
- Remove the brake fluid from the reservoir and discard in accordance with local regulations.
- Using a light rocking motion, remove the reservoir from the cylinder body.
- Remove the grommets from the cylinder body.
- Inspect the reservoir and the grommets for cracks and/or deformation, replace as necessary.
- Clean the reservoir with denatured alcohol and dry with unlubricated compressed air.
Installation Procedure
- Lubricate the new grommets and reservoir flanges with clean brake fluid.
- Install lubricated grommets to the cylinder body and ensure they are completely seated.
- Using a light rocking motion, install the reservoir to the cylinder body.
- Fill the reservoir with brake fluid. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.
- Install the master cylinder cover (1).
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
