Was the Automatic Level Control (ALC) System Check performed?

Go to Step 2

Go to Automatic Level Control Suspension System Check .

  1. Remove the rear suspension leveling air compressor relay K19 form the relay box.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 5 of the relay box and a good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in circuit A44.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 4

Connect a fused jumper wire between terminal 5 and terminal 4 of the relay box.

Does the rear suspension leveling air compressor activate?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the rear suspension leveling air compressor connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal B of the rear suspension leveling air compressor connector and a good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in circuits X43 and/or X101.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 8

Replace the rear suspension leveling air compressor relay K19.

Is the replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 11

Connect a test lamp between terminal B and terminal D of the rear suspension leveling air compressor connector.

Does the test lamp light?

Locate and repair an open or high resistance in circuit F214.

Is the repair complete?

Repair or replace the rear suspension leveling air compressor. Refer to Automatic Level Control in Suspension.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Connect all of the connectors that were disconnected.
  2. Check the ALC system operation.

Does the ALC system operate properly?

System OK
