Emblem/Nameplate Replacement Rear Compartment Lid
Removal Procedure
- Hold a heat gun 152 mm (6 in) from the emblem or
the nameplate and apply heat for about 30 seconds while moving the
heat gun in a circular motion.
- Use a flat-bladed tool in order to peel the emblem or the nameplate
from the rear compartment lid. Do NOT damage the paint surface.
- Clean the area using a suitable solvent of isopropyl alcohol 50/50
mixture by volume with water, or use a high-flash naphtha.
Installation Procedure
- The new emblem or the new nameplate must be 26°C (80°F)
minimum, or 6°C (10°F) above the ambient air temperature, whichever
is higher.
Do NOT exceed 40°C (105°F) during the installation procedure.
- Remove the backing from the new emblem or the new nameplate.
Important: Position the emblem or the nameplate carefully on the vehicle. You will
not be able to move the emblem or the nameplate after contact with the vehicle.
- Press the emblem or the nameplate into place.
- Apply constant pressure for 30 seconds.
