Garage Door Opener Operation Programming the Transmitter

Ensure that there is nothing in front of the garage door before programming the transmitter. Perform the following steps to program the Garage Door Opener Transmitter:

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Erase any previously programmed channel in the transmitter by holding down the two outside buttons on the universal transmitter until the light begins to flash rapidly, then release button. This should take approximately 20 seconds. This procedure initializes the memory and erases any previous settings for all three channels.
  3. Hold the end of the hand-held transmitter against the bottom surface of the universal transmitter so that you can still see the light.
  4. Decide which one of the three channels you want to program.
  5. Use both hands to press the hand-held transmitter and the desired button on the universal transmitter.
  6. Continue to hold these buttons.
  7. Hold down both buttons until you see the red light on the universal transmitter flash rapidly and then stop. The rapid flashing indicates that the universal transmitter has been programmed. This process takes approximately 90 seconds.
  8. Ensure that you follow the directions and that the battery in the hand-held transmitter is not dead if you have trouble programming the universal transmitter. Rotate the hand-held transmitter end over and try again if you still cannot program it. Consult you Catera dealer if you cannot program the universal transmitter after repeated attempts.

Important: Note to Canadian Owners: The hand-held transmitter may stop transmitting after one or two seconds during the programming. You should press and re-press the button on the hand-held transmitter every two seconds without releasing the button on the universal transmitter if you are programming from one of these transmitters. Release both buttons when the red light on the universal transmitter begins to flash rapidly.
