The actuator motor, the gear and the potentiometer control module are serviced as a unit.
1.1. | Remove the sunroof selector knob (if equipped). |
1.2. | Release the tabs push inward (if equipped) in order to remove the potentiometer. |
In order to remove the motor, turn slightly to disengage from the cables.
Important: Manually push the glass panel rearwards on both sides in order to check that the sunroof is at the maximum open position. This procedure sets both the slide and/or the guide, and the cables.
Important: Reprogram the sunroof. Verify the proper operation. Refer to Power Sunroof Description
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the actuator motor screw to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

4.2. | Install the potentiometer. Insert to the tabs. Push downward (if equipped). |

Tighten
Tighten the sunroof actuator motor cover screws until fully seated and
not stripped.
