Power Windows Inoperative from Left Front Switch LH Front Window Inoperative

DEFINITION: LH front side door power window is inoperative from the LH front side door window switch.

Was the Power Window System Check performed?

Go to Step 2

Go to Power Windows System Check .

  1. Close all the doors.
  2. Disconnect the LH front side door window regulator motor connector.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the LH front side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits A1 and/or A2.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit A1 and/or A2.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 13

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 4 of the LH front side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit F11.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F11.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 13

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Press the LH front side door window switch UP button.
  3. Use a DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the LH front side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 8

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits RU5 and/or RU6.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits RU5 and/or RU6.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH front side door window switch. Refer to Console Switch Housing Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Go to Step 13

  1. Press the LH front side door window switch DOWN button.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the LH front side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 10

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit PA2.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit PA2.
  3. If this circuit is OK, replace the LH front side door window switch. Refer to Console Switch Housing Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Go to Step 13

Use a DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 5 of the LH front side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 11

Replace the LH front side door window regulator motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement in Doors.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Locate an open or high resistance in circuit B1 or B6.
  2. Repair the open or high resistance in circuit B1 or B6.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the LH front side door power window operates properly.

Does the LH front side door power window operate properly?

  2. Disconnect the LH rear side door window regulator motor connector.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 1 of the LH rear side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits A21 and/or A1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits A21 and/or A1.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 13

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 4 of the LH rear side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 6

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit F1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F1.

Is the repair complete?

  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits RU15 and/or RU2.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH front side door window switch. Refer to Console Switch Housing Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Press the LH front side door window switch DOWN button.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the LH rear side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 10

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuits PA3 and/or PA2.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuits PA3 and/or PA2.
  3. If this circuit is OK, replace the LH front side door window switch. Refer to Console Switch Housing Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 5 of the LH rear side door window regulator motor connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?
