Was the Power Door Locks System Check performed?

Go to Power Door Locks System Check .

  1. Close LH front driver door.
  2. Install the scan tool.
  3. Establish communication with the BCM.
  4. Select output controls under special functions on the scan tool.
  5. Use the scan tool to tell the BCM to LOCK and UNLOCK all doors.

Do the doors LOCK and UNLOCK when commanded by the BCM?

  1. Disconnect the door lock relay K135 connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 8 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 5

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit A911or A816.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit A911or A816.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 22

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 14 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 7

  1. Locate an open or high resistance in circuit F911.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F911.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the LH front side door lock switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 4 of the LH front side door lock switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 9

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit F12.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F12.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the RH front side door lock switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 4 of the RH front side door lock switch connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 11

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit F12.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit F12.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the LH front side door lock switch connector and terminal A08 of the BCM connector C1.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the LH front side door lock switch connector and terminal A06 of the BCM connector C1.

Is the measured resistance for both measurements within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 13

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in all of the circuits between the LH front side door lock switch and the BCM connector C1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in all of the circuits between the LH front side door lock switch and the BCM connector C1.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 1 of the RH front side door lock switch connector and terminal A08 of the BCM connector C1.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 2 of the RH front side door lock switch connector and terminal A06 of the BCM connector C1.

Is the measured resistance for both measurements within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 15

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in all of the circuits between the RH front side door lock switch and the BCM connector C1.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in all of the circuits between the RH front side door lock switch and the BCM connector C1.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect the LH front side door lock switch.
  2. Press and hold the LH front side door lock switch to the LOCK position.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal A08 of the BCM connector C1 and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 17

Replace the LH front side door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Connect the RH front side door lock switch.
  2. Press and hold the RH front side door lock switch to the LOCK position.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal A08 of the BCM connector C1 and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 19

Replace the RH front side door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement in Doors.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Terminal A08 of the BCM connector C1 is the input signal for the door locks and terminal D02 of the BCM connector C2 is the output. The BCM internally grounds terminal D02 when terminal A08 is grounded.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 11 of the door lock relay K135 connector and a known good ground while pressing the LH or RH front side door lock switches to the LOCK position.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

0 V

Go to Step 21

  1. Locate a short to B+ in circuit XY806.
  2. Repair the short to B+ in circuit XY806.
  3. If circuit XY806 is OK, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the repair or the replacement complete?

  1. Locate an open or high resistance in circuit FA801 or FB801.
  2. Repair the open or high resistance in circuit FA801 or FB801.
  3. If these circuits are OK , replace the door lock relay K135.

Is the repair or replacement complete?

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the power door locks operate properly.

Do the power door lock operate properly?

--
