Door Lock Rod Knob Replacement Front

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 242979  Size: SH
  1. Remove the lock rod knob:
  2. • Pull up on the knob in order to expose the orange tab.
    • Pry out on the tab with a screwdriver in order to release the knob.

    Object Number: 242986  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bezel:
  4. • Remove the screw.
    • Remove the bezel from the trim panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 242986  Size: SH
  1. Install the bezel:
  2. • Install the bezel to the trim panel.
    • Install the screw.

    Object Number: 242979  Size: SH
  3. Install the knob:
  4. • Insert the orange tab into the slot.
    • Push the knob into position.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 243316  Size: SH
  1. Pull up on the knob in order to expose the orange tab.
  2. Pry out on the tab with a screwdriver in order to release the knob.
  3. Remove the screw.
  4. Remove the bezel from the trim panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 243316  Size: SH
  1. Install the bezel to the trim panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screw.
  4. Install the knob:
  5. Tighten
    Tighten door lock bezel screw until fully seated but not striped.

  6. Insert the orange tab into the slot.
  7. Push the knob into position.
