Was the Power Window System Check performed?

  1. Close all doors.
  2. Disconnect the LH front side door window switch connector C1.
  3. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 7 of the LH front side door window switch female connector C1 and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

  1. Check the integrity of Fuse #1 if OK, locate an open or short to ground in all the circuit A48, A10, or A3.
  2. Repair the open or the short to ground in A48, A10, or A3..

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the voltage between terminal 6 of the LH front side door window switch female connector C1 and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in circuit X2.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in circuit X2.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 9 of the LH front side door window switch female connector C1 and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

OL

Go to Step 7

  1. Disconnect LH front side door window switch connector C2.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal A of the LH front side door window switch male connector C2 and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 11

  1. Disconnect RH front side door window switch connector.
  2. Use the DMM to measure the resistance between terminal 5 of the RH front side door window switch female connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured resistance within the specified value?

Less than 5 ohms

Go to Step 9

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in the circuits between terminal A of the LH front side door window switch male connector C2 and terminal 5 of the RH front side door window switch male connector .
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in the circuits between terminal A of the LH front side door window switch male connector C2 and terminal 5 of the RH front side door window switch male connector .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Locate a open or high resistance in circuit F22.
  2. Repair the open or high resistance in circuit F22.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Connect the LH front side door window switch connector C1.
  2. Connect the RH front side door window switch connector.
  3. Connect the LH front side door window switch connector C2.
  4. Use the DMM to measure voltage, by backprobing between terminal 6 of the RH front side door window switch male connector and a known good ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 14

  1. Locate a short to ground in circuit R10 or R2.
  2. Repair the short to ground circuit R10 or R2.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH front side door jamb switch Refer to Door Jamb Switch Replacement

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in the circuit between terminal 6 of the RH front side door window switch female connector and splice S313.
  2. Repair the open or the high resistance in the circuit.
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH front side door window switch. Refer to Console Switch Housing Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Locate an open or a high resistance in the circuits between terminal 6 of the RH front side door window switch male connector and terminal B of the LH front side door window switch male connector C2 .
  2. Repair the open or high resistance in the circuits between terminal 6 of the RH front side door window switch male connector and terminal B of the LH front side door window switch male connector C2 .
  3. If these circuits are OK, replace the LH front side door window switch. Refer to Console Switch Housing Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Connect the disconnected connectors.
  2. Verify that the power windows operate properly.

Do all of the power windows operate properly?
