Removal Procedure

Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

   • Air bag deployment
   • Personal injury
   • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
   • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
   • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflator Module Coil Replacement

    2. Object Number: 210365 Size: SH
  2. Remove the ignition switch set screw.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Insert a small flatbladed tool into the ignition switch connector hole in order to depress the locking tab.
  5. Pull the connector from the ignition switch.

    6. Object Number: 210368 Size: SH
  6. Remove the ignition switch.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 210368 Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition switch onto the lock cylinder housing.

    2. Object Number: 210365 Size: SH
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the ignition switch.
  3. Install the set screw until fully seated and not stripped.
  4. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflator Module Coil Replacement
